In communities across the country, sport serves a deeper purpose. It brings people together, teaches life lessons, and fuels a shared sense of pride — especially within Latino communities, where the field has long been a place of belonging and possibility.
Recently, Telemundo launched Tu Momento. Tu Jugada. — known in English as Telemundo’s Next Play — a nationwide sports impact initiative that champions the transformative power of sports to inspire character, teamwork, and leadership. The initiative brings together mentorship, live experiences, and local partnerships to help young people build confidence, connection, and skills that shape future leaders.
Supported by Comcast NBCUniversal, the Tu Momento. Tu Jugada. Mobile Experience is a key component of the initiative as the road to the World Cup unfolds. The Mobile Experience kicked off on December 11 in the San Francisco Bay Area, marking six months until the tournament returns to the United States, and will travel to eight Telemundo and Comcast NBCUniversal markets, including Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
At each stop, families and youth are invited to take part in hands-on activities that celebrate soccer culture and media storytelling — from stepping into a mock broadcast booth to call out “¡GOOOOL!” like Andrés Cantor, to creating custom soccer cards, playing games, and participating in clinics on mini-pitches designed for learning and fun.
“Through Tu Momento. Tu Jugada., we are inspiring youth, creating leadership opportunities, and strengthening grassroots sports while inviting fans everywhere to share their passion for the game,” said Christina Kolbjornsen, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “As the exclusive Spanish-language home of FIFA World Cup 26™ and a trusted destination for Latino audiences, Telemundo is committed to ensuring the energy of the world’s biggest sporting event reaches far beyond the stadium.”
Beyond live experiences, the initiative includes a Digital Storytelling Series spotlighting grassroots heroes, rising athletes, and community leaders shaping Latino sports culture, shared across Telemundo’s digital and social platforms, as well as El Poder En Ti. Café Golazo Community Breakfasts will also convene civic leaders and local organizations in World Cup host cities to explore community legacy, investment, and opportunity.
In partnership with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Telemundo will expand the Yes, Coach!™ initiative. As the Foundation’s official Spanish-language media partner for the eighth consecutive year, Telemundo will support efforts to equip 100,000 coaches to mentor more than three million young people through a new bilingual platform and a public service campaign airing across Comcast NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises networks.
“We are proud to partner with Telemundo on Tu Momento. Tu Jugada. to inspire young people, engage families, and strengthen communities through soccer,” said Ed Foster-Simeon, President & CEO, U.S. Soccer Foundation. “Our sport has the power to bring people together, spark joy, and open doors for the next generation—especially in under-resourced communities where opportunities can be limited. Together, we are creating pathways that connect fans, empower youth, and help the game grow for years to come.”
“Tu Momento. Tu Jugada. is grounded in the belief that sport has the power to elevate communities,” said Luis Rosero, Vice President of Corporate, External and Community Affairs at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “The values learned on the field — resilience, discipline, collaboration, and fair play — shape leaders, strengthen families, and leave a lasting impact for future generations.”
Tu Momento. Tu Jugada. is part of El Poder En Ti, Telemundo’s award-winning national community initiative dedicated to uplifting Latinos through inclusion, wellness, education, and civic participation — proving that the impact of sport lasts long after the final whistle.
